The time of Covid was suffering, pain, loneliness, and change for millions of people. Something none of us could have imagined would affect humanity. The dark smoke in our hearts completely engulfed us in blackness, like sadness, anger, pain, and for some, the loss of jobs or loved ones. This endlessly long period gnawed at our hearts and our patience. It was a loss of freedom.
In the first wave, which occurred, we all experienced a new state, quarantine. Even back then, in the period of March, April, May 2020, it felt endless! At that moment, we dreamt of deserted islands, a bit of sunshine, that glimmer of hope. The world turned upside down. I also dreamt of a small island where my whole family would hide and live until the world came back together. We would catch fish, walk in white linen outfits, and meditate for a better world.
In June, we drove to Croatia, risking the current situation, and experienced two weeks of slightly different travel without tourists, empty streets, half-empty restaurants, open highways, and hearing people whispering to each other like sparrows on a roof, singing the same song about bacteria. At that time, we told ourselves that this situation happening all over the world is absolutely unique and will hopefully never happen again. It's like metaphorically carving our names on the ancient walls of the beautiful city of Dubrovnik. Or dancing in the humid air accompanied by a sensual Croatian singer and hearing the joy and gratitude in our hearts.
This experience propelled us to heights we didn't even know we could reach. Suddenly, we looked at the current world with a sense of detachment and fearlessness, and took another immensely significant step. There were three of us. Three fools who jumped into it a little recklessly. And so, in July, we embarked on a one-way ticket to our first destination, Crete...
What happened next?
Yours, Sweetest Dot.
