All the lollipops of the world

It's Friday. After a sweet breakfast, I'm sitting outside in Downtown Long Beach. In the area where the majestic gray, glass modern building of the Governor George Deukmejian Courthouse is located. Beautiful magnolia trees grow in front of it, which will soon bloom. There are parked police cars here. It's such a quiet location and place that I like to have a hazelnut latte and write in the café here. I'm sitting outside with that cold beauty. The atmosphere engulfs me. There is zen here, but there are also many people moving around. Messengers with mailboxes, with food, local crazies practicing martial arts, there are people from all nationalities of the world here. Would you like to have a conversation with an Indian, Mexican, Korean, African or Czech? We are all here on a few acres. Some are immersed in their own world, some are smiling. Probably because we have a weekend and Presidents' Day ahead of us. However, the federal holiday remains George Washington's Birthday. It is one of many ways that Americans celebrate the life of the man they often call the "father of the country".

Although I already know Long Beach well and have explored it pretty well over the three years, I am always drawn to writing my stories elsewhere, like here. I love the diversity of the city, which offers a taste of everything. I wonder if this city will be enough for me if I wanted to settle here? Long Beach isn't. I feel like a spoiled girl who has tasted all the candies in the world and can't decide which one is the best. But what is the best for me/us? That's the problem. And some of you will agree with me that as you travel, taste, experience, have personal observations, priorities change. I also liked other cities and states that I visited as a single and now as a family.

What details matter to you when you want to settle down? Quality of family life, work, climate, language, nature, country's economy, safety, quality schools for your children...?

Soon we will have to answer these questions ourselves and listen to our brain, heart, and dreams. I couldn't live without them. When dreams come true, the world is a little rosier. At least in my head.

My dear readers, I would be very happy to hear your comments. Your personal opinion that interests me. On my blog, story, anything on your mind.

Your Sweetest Dot.
